FOOD SAFETY MITRA - SERVICE

The Food Safety Mitra (FSM) initiative, launched by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI), aims to support small food business operators (FBOs) in complying with food safety regulations. FSMs are certified professionals who assist FBOs with licensing, registration, training, and hygiene ratings

Types of Food Safety Mitras

  1. Digital Mitra: Assists FBOs with online compliance processes, such as filing applications for registration, licenses, and annual returns

  2. Trainer Mitra: Provides training to food safety supervisors and personnel on food safety regulations.

  3. Hygiene Mitra: Conducts hygiene audits and helps FBOs implement hygiene guidelines

Eligibility Criteria

  • Digital Mitra: Individuals aged between 21 to 60 years with a bachelor's degree from a recognized university and working knowledge of the internet and computers.

  • Trainer Mitra: Graduates in food technology, science, microbiology, biology, or chemistry, or individuals with a minimum of five years of experience in the relevant food industry.

  • Hygiene Mitra: Domain experts from the food industry with experience in food safety and hygiene audits
